Pool and Spa Lifts We Handle

From plunge pools to large swim spas, we help you find the right crane for the load, lifting distance and access at your property.

Fibreglass Pool Shells

We lift fibreglass pool shells off the truck and lower them into the excavation, including sites where an over-house lift may be suitable.

Precast Plunge Pools

Precast plunge pools can be heavy, so we use the supplier's specifications to assess the lifting requirements.

Spas and Hot Tubs

We can lift spas and hot tubs over a house, onto a raised deck or into a tight courtyard, subject to site conditions.

Swim Spas

The right crane depends on the swim spa's weight, dimensions and required reach. We check the lifting requirements before confirming the job.

Pool Equipment

We also lift pool equipment, including filtration systems and heat pumps, where access over a fence or wall is required.

Can a Crane Get Your Pool Into the Backyard?

A crane may be able to lift your pool over the house, garage or fence when side access is limited. Feasibility depends on the load, crane setup, ground conditions and a clear lift path. We assess these before confirming the job.

Four key checks in planning your lift:

01

A place to set up
We assess access and setup space, including outrigger clearance where needed. A street setup may require approvals and traffic management.

02

Enough reach
Load weight, lift radius and clearance height determine crane selection together. Rated capacity alone does not tell you what a crane can lift at reach.

03

A clear path
We assess rooflines, trees and overhead services. Work near powerlines requires safe clearances and appropriate controls, not simply avoiding contact.

04

Firm ground
The setup area must support the crane and its loads. We assess slopes, excavations and underground services, with suitable ground support where required.

The Right Crane for Your Site

Our fleet includes cranes with rated capacities from 16 to 130 tonnes. Actual lifting capacity varies with reach and setup. We match the crane to your load, access and site conditions.

Common options for pool and spa lifts:

20 Tonne Franna

Pick-and-carry lifts where access, ground conditions and the load chart allow. We assess suitability for each job.

Built-up suburbs and narrow streets where setup space is limited.

Spa and Swim Spa Crane Delivery

Planning a spa or swim spa delivery? Send us the model, weight, dimensions and manufacturer’s lifting instructions so we can assess the crane and access requirements.

How Much Does Pool Crane Hire Cost?

Cost depends on the crane needed, which comes down to the weight of the shell and how far it has to travel from the crane. Setup space, crew and rigging requirements, time on site, permits and any traffic control also play a part. Two houses with the same pool can need very different cranes, so every job gets its own free quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

How much does it cost to hire a crane to lift a pool?

It depends on the crane size, the reach needed and the site setup. Send us the pool details and photos for a free quote. For more detail, read our crane hire cost guide.

2

Can a crane lift a pool over my house?

In many cases, yes. We assess the load, required reach, roofline, powerlines and setup area before confirming the lift. Our pool installation guide explains how these lifts are planned.

3

What size crane do I need for a pool or spa?

The weight alone does not decide it. The distance from the crane to the final position, the height to clear and the setup space also matter. Send the supplier’s specifications and site photos and we’ll recommend the crane.

4

Who organises the crane, me or the pool company?

Either can book it. We work directly with pool builders and installers, and help homeowners who have been asked to arrange their own crane. Confirm who is booking before delivery day.

5

Do I need council approval if the crane sets up on the street?

A street setup may need council approval or traffic management. Requirements depend on the location and the space required. Tell us about the site early so we can identify what needs arranging before lift day.

6

Can you do short-notice or same-day lifts?

Where the crane and crew are available, we can help with urgent lifts. Call 1300 024 454 as early as possible to check the schedule.

7

Do you lift spas and swim spas too?

Yes. We lift spas, hot tubs and swim spas into backyards, courtyards and other difficult-access locations. We check the manufacturer’s weight, dimensions and lifting requirements before confirming the crane.

8

What do you need to quote my lift?

Send the pool or spa weight and dimensions, supplier’s lifting details, site address, approximate street-to-pool distance, preferred delivery date and photos showing the street, driveway, house and backyard.
